Fall Mini Sessions in Western Minnesota – A Beautiful 2025 Season in Lagoon Park

This year’s Fall Mini Sessions were some of my busiest — and honestly, some of my favorites. I photographed more than ten mini-sessions in one day plus a full one-hour family session, and it was the kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. Families, couples, kids, grandparents… everyone showed up ready to laugh, explore, and soak up the crisp autumn air. I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who booked with me.
We spent the evening wandering through Lagoon Park in Montevideo, Minnesota, one of the most picturesque spots in Western (and Southwestern) Minnesota. The winding river finally settled after a summer of nonstop rain — thank goodness. Minnesota was basically a swamp this year, but the timing worked out perfectly; the water dropped, the mud dried, and the park transformed back into that storybook setting we all love.
Lagoon Park truly showed off this season. The old stone bridges looked like something out of a vintage painting, the tall trees gave that cozy golden canopy, and the reflective river created those dreamy, painterly backdrops my clients always swoon over. If there was ever a place built for fall photography, it’s this one.
And let me tell you… golden hour did not disappoint. When the sun finally peeked through, those sessions glowed. Literally. The kind of warm, magical light that makes skin tones creamy, leaves glow, and the whole world look like it’s saying, “Yep, this is why fall is worth the wait.”
Every gallery — from early afternoon to sunset — turned out beautifully. Whether families were chasing kids through the leaves or couples were tucked together near the bridge, the colors, the light, and the mood all came together in that perfectly nostalgic Minnesota way.
This was officially my busiest fall mini-session season since I started doing photography, and I couldn’t be more thankful. To everyone who booked, showed up, trusted me, and laughed with me… thank you. You helped make this season something special.
If you’re already dreaming about next year’s fall minis, keep an eye on my website and social media. Spots go fast, and I can’t wait to create more timeless images across Western and Southwestern Minnesota in 2026.
Until then — here’s to golden leaves, cozy fall memories, and the families who make this job such a joy.
